Showing/Handling Services:

Handler:  Caroline Welk

Caroline's natural connection and her gentle manner with the llamas has been a successful combination in the showring.   Her services to other llama owners have won them several National Top Ten Regional and Grand National Championships.


She has been successfully showing and handling llamas in the showring for over 12 years creating Champions at ALSA shows, Regional Shows and the Grand Nationals.  While Winsome Llamas cannot guarantee a specific placing, we can guarantee that your llama will be shown to its full potential to give your llama the spotlight it deserves on that special day.
Let us take your llama to the top by bringing out all of the best qualities and attributes it has to offer.

2010 Handling Fees

ALSA sanctioned show:   $30.00 per class

Futurity Show:  $75.00 per class and 20% of any monies won.

Regional Shows:  $50.00 per class

Grand National Show: $75.00 per class
and 20% of monies won

Birthing Services:  
We know that there are times that you may find yourself out-of-town when your female or females' due date is coming up, or, your job does not permit you to miss work to stay on baby watch.  Most commonly, you may just not feel confident enough to have your precious cria and born at your own ranch.  We are here to help you.

We offer pre-neotal care and post-neotal care to pregnant females.  We have had extensive experience in delivering crias, normally and in complicated situations.  
Let our knowledge and 24 hour care help give you peace of mind.   

Dam owner to provide cria blanket for their upcoming bundle of joy upon delivery of dam to Winsome Llamas.

Our birthing services are subject to written agreement between dam owner and Winsome Llamas outlining terms, timeframe and care.

2010 Fees

Boarding Fee:  $75.00 a month for dam after 30 days
(includes high quality hay and daily grain for pregnant females.  Any additional supplements for dam to be provided by dam owner)

Normal births:  $150.00 flat fee
[Daily dam observation, labor monitoring,
nose and toes normal delivery]

Assisted births due to complication:  $350.00 flat fee
[Assisting cria in birth]

Dam/Cria care:  $35.00 an hour to all time afforded delivery and cria care [Including, but not limited to, drying, iodine, enemas, observation, blanketing, bottle feeding, tubing formula, milking dam, vaccinations, etc.]

Vitamin ADE Injection:   $5.00

Bose Injection:  $10.00

CDT Injection:  $5.00

Enema Solution:  $5.00

Vaccination and Worming of dam after birth:  $10.00 Ivermectin [per every 2cc's], $5.00 CDT, $10.00 Leptospirosis, $10.00 Bose, Oxytocin Injection $15.00 per cc

Grooming and Shearing Services:

Winsome LLamas offers you spring and summer shearing services on a first come, first serve basis.   Our calendar fill up quickly, so please put your request in early for your 2009 shearing.  

We also offer show cuts to get your llamas show ready all year round subject to time constraints.   

You are always welcome to bring your llamas to us for shearing all year round, subject to our availability.

Show grooming fees:

$50.00 to $150.00 (depending on condition of coat, extent of work and behavior of llama.  Each llama will be evaluated with an estimate of cost prior to grooming.   All grooming products used are inclusive in the grooming fee.)
2010 Shearing Fees

One time set up fee: $50.00

Travel driving time round trip billed at .75 a mile (after 25 miles)
(Does not apply to Out-of-State airfare)

Barrel Cut:  $35.00

Full Body Shear:  $55.00

Show Cut:  $45.00

Toenails:  $10.00

Owner must provide tarp for collection of fiber, if desired, and have llamas caught up and ready to go. If we have to blow debris out of llama's fiber prior to shearing (saves our blades), there will be a small additional fee. Line up a helper to catch, blow out your llamas, rake up fiber and save money.]

We will travel out-of-state (please contact us for details). Also, if you know of anyone in your area in need of shearing services, we would appreciate your letting them know we can help them. Get a group together for a weekend and let's make it fun! We may be reached by telephone and/or email. Our email is checked regularly and is the best way to reach us. Boarding Fees:

We offer boarding on a limited basis due to space availability.   You can be rest assured your llamas are treated as well as we treat our own with daily herd assessments to make sure your llamas are healthy and happy.

Board includes a clean environment along with high quality alfalfa hay once a day with free feeding of timothy grass.  They have access to special llama mineral salt each day, as well.

All special diets are handled on a case by case basis and can be administered for extra handling and separation from the herd during feeding time.
2010 Boarding Fees

Monthly Board:  $75.00 per month

Prorated Board:  $2.50 per day

All board is preferably due at the beginning of each month and will be billed out electronically to you via computer email, as time permits.
