2009 Grand Nationals

(L to R) Jayma, Caroline and Jan
Buffalo Bill's house, North Platte, NE
Well, how do I put this year's trip into words . . . FANTASTIC!

Each year is filled with anticipation of hitting the road to Lincoln, NE to compete at this fun and prestigious llama show.   I never know what adventures may lay ahead in my travels.  This year was very meaningful on so many levels.  I traveled there with my wonderful friend, Jan Chapman of Sunset Llamas, and her daughter, Jayma (we will be seeing more of Jayma, she never knew she was a llama lover deep down inside :).   Jan's beloved husband, Jim, passed away in August, 2009 and it was his wish that Jan continue to do the things she loved so much - her llamas.     I felt Jim's presence with us every step of the way and knew he wore a big smile.  We love and miss you, Jim.

Our trip started in Vista, CA and the first stop was St. George, Utah.  Now, in what normally would take about 6 hours to get there, Jayma got us there in 4.4 hours!
We left St. George, Utah the following morning and took off for Denver, CO, our next stop.   The countryside was absolutely gorgeous with all of the colors of fall.   We saw a herd of wild horses playing as we drove through the fish mountains.   Around every corner was even more spectacular than the last.

See you in 2010!
