We are located in the beautiful Santa Rosa Mountains in Southern California above Palm Springs. It is home to David, Caroline, and our two wonderful children, Taylor (18) and Bridget (16). Our home is shared with our llamas, three horses, a few silly dogs, 5 bengal cats and two talkative parrots.
Since Dave and I both worked full-time jobs, along with raising a family, when we chose to purchase two "pets" in 1997.
Well, that didn't last long and we soon began looking for a herdsire to begin our breeding program and found him - PPF Beijing. He was the most beautiful llama we had ever seen. Along with his wonderful disposition, he was a head turner with beautiful fiber and color. To this day, he commands attention wherever he goes - a true Champion. We began showing Beijing as a yearling and in no time, he earned his ALSA Championship and Recognition of Merit. Beijing now lives in Havana, Kansas with Dr. Michael Bush.
Since that time, we added PPF Moon Doggie to our breeding program. This exquisite male is a full chilean Dreamcatcher son. He is size, conformation and beautiful fiber to his offspring, not to mention his wonderful easygoing disposition. He is a sweetheart.
In 2002, we added a suri line to our herd, a White Heat son, namely "White Russian". This male has HUGE bone and his fiber is beautiful. This male has a wonderful easygoing disposition, as well. We are very excited about "Ruskys" production as he consistenly produces suri and suri/silky fiber on his offspring and they have all done fantastic in the showring from local shows all the way to Nationals. White Russian is an ALSA Get of Sire Champion now.
His first cria placed placed in the Top Five in their classes during their first show year in 2004. His first and second cria crop placed Top Ten at the 2004 Grand Nationals and Top Ten at the 2005 Grand Nationals.
In 2005, we added a full Peruvian line to our breeding program with Nachi, a *Sipan son. Nachi went 2006 Grand National Grand Champion male and he is producing some incredible babies with his tall and statuesque phenotype. Nachi brings more diversity to accomplish our breeding goals.
In 2006, we added a gorgeous half Argentine male to our program, E.L. Superman, who went on to achieve his ALSA Halter Championship and ROM in a very short time period. Superman has proven valuable in his production here.
In 2007, we added two junior herdsires. One suri male named Integrity's Top Drawer, a Peruvian Vice grandson and Hazz Pizazz ABSR, a full chilean silky, silky male. Both of these males have taken championship after championship. We can't wait to see what they produce in our breeding program.
in 2008, we added another two suri males to our breeding program, Big Tapa, the Western States Futurity winner and an outcross male by the name of Peruvian Kryptonite.
We are all very active as a family in the management of our ranch, showing our llamas and offering our ranch for field trips for the local schools.
We have an abundance of hiking trails around our home and often enjoy hiking around for the sheer enjoyment of it all.
Enjoying these animals as a family when hiking and camping, along with presenting them in the show ring, has been a truly rewarding experience for us!
